Matlin Manufacturing was founded in 1988 in Hartselle, AL by Dr. Mark R Payne. Dr. Payne maintained a thriving corrective care practice in Hartselle from 1980 through 1996, routinely seeing 500 plus visits weekly. In 1996, Dr. Payne married his wife Debra, sold his practice, and relocated to Phenix City, AL where Matlin Mfg is presently located. Over the years, Dr. Payne has developed a number of new devices and methods for use in delivering spinal corrective care. In addition, Matlin Mfg Inc. has been instrumental in helping other doctors in the promotion and sale of their own unique methods of applying corrective forces to the spine.

In the early years of his practice, Dr. Payne was frustrated by his inability to consistently produce meaningful spinal corrections. In his search for better methods of treatment, he explored a number of structural based techniques including the methods of Thompson, Pierce-Stillwagon, Pettibon, Harrison and others. He was a member of the CBP seminar team for approximately 12 years, teaching postural rehabilitation techniques across the country to thousands of doctors. He has been a contributing author to various CBP texts and research papers, and continues to write on the subject of postural rehabilitation as a regular columnist for both The American Chiropractor Magazine and The Chiropractic Journal.

This website is a part of Dr. Payne’s ongoing efforts to make postural chiropractic methods understandable and affordable for all doctors who are genuinely interested in providing effective and consistent programs of structural correction for their patients.
